These are cards I made for my mom and my boyfriend's mom. Moms have gotta love a handmade card.

Accurate Likenesses
Here are new pictures of a piece I made last fall for Gallery R in Rochester. Heavily influenced by Jen Stark and Kara Walker, I wanted to do a papercut that was a portrait of my roommates and I. Plus, we needed something to put on our living room wall. I had been thinking about how a silhouette's likeness could more accurately capture how we feel, or be a silhouette of our inner world.

Den Lille Havfrue
In my version this lille havfrue gives up her eyesight instead of her voice and has "antlers" of seaweed to cover her eyes. In my sketch she has webbed fingers as well. Perhaps I'll elaborate on her story later.
She was made with needle felted white wool, crocheted green poly-blend yarn, and yarn-wrapped pipe cleaners for her antlers.

1st rug done!
This rug was made from pure wool roving from my friend Jenny's sheep. I hand-dyed the wool with Kool Aid (for the mauve, purple, and red) and coffee (for the tan mustard color.) It was crocheted and then felted by washing it with hot water. It's dimensions are around 35"x30".

We're starting a craft company!

My Purchase College roommate, Madeleine, and I are starting a company that makes handcrafted products. We've decided to call our business venture Fawndeleine and I came up with a logo and graphic mark for it. We currently making rugs, quilts, felted animals, and jewelry that we're going to sell at a craft festival in Kingston, NY and Park Ave. Fest in Rochester, NY.
Here's the logo, photos of products soon to come.

Dress Up Party!
I made a fox costume to wear to my friend's birthday party. I also helped my roommate make a dress out of stuffed animals and tulle.

I had a fear of foxes for a while when I was little. I was playing outside one day when my dogs found a den of baby foxes (kits) so I started to play with them and the mom fox came (vixen) and bit my foot. I have a very vivid memory of kicking my white canvas shoe with a fox attached to it, trying to shake it off. My mom was painting the house that day and she and my brother climbed up the ladder. I think my dad eventually intervened. I don't remember what happened after that.
